New plan for Commonwealth Local Government Forum - Pacific

Following a successful consultation workshop in Brisbane in April 2010, a follow up workshop was held in Nadi, Fiji on 17-19 May, 2010. It was attended by representatives of the CLGF Pacific Project member countries from the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. The Workshop finalised a CLGF Pacific Strategic Plan for the next five years. Each project member country will soon be developing its national three year strategic plans setting out their priorities for the next phase of the Regional Pacific Capacity Building Programme. These national plans will form the basis of CLGF’s submission for a second phase of funding to support a further five year regional local government capacity building programme in the Pacific. http://www.clgf.org.uk Source CLGF
