The fight against energy privatisation in Indonesia continues, led by the union of energy workers, Perusahaan Listrik Negara. In a concerned letter to the chairman of the constitutional court in Jakarta, PSI supports the campaign.
The PLN and the Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) are reaching out to community members and civil society, and continue to pursue legal options. The unions have submitted, once again, claims to the country's constitutional court. Five years ago, the constitutional court ruled that privatisation would not be in the best interest of the people of Indonesia. On Nov 2, 2010, Public Services International voiced its support for its affiliates' case in a letter to the chairman of the constitutional court in Jakarta. PSI supports the case filed to abrogate Electricity law No. 30/2009 and fast tracking the evaluation of the judicial review
