Pakistan - APFUTU Protest Against Price Hike and Unemployment
Islamabad: 17 Nov 2011: The working class all
over the country observed ‘Protest Day’ against price hike of essential
commodities and aggravating unemployment of the workers and youth owing to load
shedding and prevalent anti-labour legislation namely ‘Industrial Relations
Ordinance’ on Thursday. The protest procession took place in all major cities
including Karachi, Faisalabad, Mardan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujrat,
Sialkot, Gujranwala, M.B.Din and Quetta. In the provincial metropolis, the main
procession was taken out of APFUTU-regional office Islamabad while passing
through constitutional avenue which ended in a rally outside the National
Parliament, Islamabad. The protesters were carrying banners in support of their
demands while chanting slogans against feudalism, price-hike and
