Populations are continuing to relocate from rural to urban areas, with many towns experiencing urban growth at rates twice the national average. Around sixty delegates from across the region met in Nadi, Fiji from 29 November – 2 December to forge links between local government and national planners, assessing sustainable urban infrastructure opportunities and discussing strategic climate change adaptation measures in towns and cities.
