Media registration open for APEC Energy Ministers’ Meeting - advice from APEC

Beijing, China, 1 August 2014 - Media registration is now open for the APEC Energy Ministers' Meeting, to be hosted in Beijing by China’s National Energy Commission.
Background:

APEC economies account for around 60 per cent of world energy consumption, are a net energy importer and facing rising demand needed to support higher living standards in the region and fuel economic growth amid landmark shifts in global production. The centrality of fossil fuels is meanwhile intensifying pressure to reduce emissions and build on improvements in energy efficiency that protect the environment and save businesses and consumers money.
APEC Ministers will take joint actions to promote sustainable energy development across the Asia-Pacific region. Areas of focus include strengthening energy security; boosting trade and investment in the sector; the delivery of greater efficiency and “smart,” low-carbon communities; and the development and deployment of clean and renewable energy technologies.

Registration procedure:
To register, please complete the media registration form downloadable at this link and send it to media@ciodpa.org.cn with this subject: “Media info + ” you/your delegation name. Successfully accredited press will receive a confirmation letter and additional meeting information in due course.
On-site registration is not applicable for media.
Note on media access:  
All media must be accredited before they are allowed access to the meeting venue and facilities. Access to the meeting will be limited to the opening ceremony.
