continue take all necessary steps to ensure
Safe Working Conditions to line
staff for prevention of their accidents at workplace and measure for promotion
of their welfare including the promotion and up-gradation of Line, Meter
Reading, Grid, Ministerial, Revenue, Accounts, Class-IV and computer staff at
the earliest. Every effort would continue to be made for expansion and
improving training facilities for the technical / line staff to raise their
professional skill. Those would require passing Training Test prior their
promotion. The company has achieved the highest standard of efficiency in
reduction of line losses and recovering of the lawful electricity dues. The
company would continue Endeavour to provide Better Services to the electricity consumers. The lawful dues of
the staff would be ensured to be paid every month regularly. These decisions were taken today on 15 September, 2014 in a
bilateral meeting held by Syed Zafar Bokhari, Chief Executive Officer, Faisalabad
Electric Supply Company with the representatives of the All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers (CBA) led by veteran
trade union leader Mr. Khurshid Ahmad, General Secretary accompanied by Rana
Ghulam Jaffar, Mian Rashid Ahmad, Ch. Sarfraz Hundal, M/s. Muhammad Khan Niazi
(Sargodha), Noor ul Hassan (Jhang) and other representatives of the union.
Chief Executive Officer advised the workers to make every efforts to improve
the efficiency of the company and prevent pilferage of energy. He assured that
the workers showing better performance would be duly awarded and asked them to
get observed safety regulations. Earlier the union representatives declared
that FESCO has been recognized as the best efficient company due to the
excellent team work by the engineers and its workers
LESCO Management would be severely punished those Officials and Officer who indulged in overbilling to Elecy. Consumers. The Company has
introduced to provide monetary incentive to those officials who perform
exemplary work for detection of pilferage of energy and recovery of defaulting
consumers. Every effort would be made to ensure Safe Working Conditions to the
Line staff at work place by providing them standard Safety Equipments and
Observance of safety Regulations strictly at work place. Seven members of Line Staff have been
electrocuted in two months in LESCO alone while two linemen including Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Lineman in Burki Sub Division Lahore and Pervaiz Abbas A.L.M. Chung Sub
Division LESCO. Lahore have died on
account of electrocution in a week while Mr. Talib Lineman Atta Abad Sub Division, LESCO. Sheikhupura
had become disable by falling from the Pole. The eligible employees both at
Company and Circles Level would be granted promotion and their pay scales
including Meter Supervisor and M.R.S.S.
would be sup-graded in accordance with the settlement reached with the
union within one month. LESCO. management
had been making every effort to impress the Government to lift ban on recruitment of the staff imposed for
many years in order to meet the growing
quantum of work. Every effort was being made to up-grade and improve the
services to elecy. consumers. These decisions were made to day 17.09.2014 by Rao Zameer-ud-Din Chief
Executive Officer, LESCO in a bilateral
meeting held to-day 17.09,2014 at LESCO. headquarter Lahore with the representatives of “ALL
PAKISTAN WAPDA HYDRO ELECTRIC WORKERS UNION” C.B.A. which
was led by Veteran Trade Union Leader Mr. Khurshid Ahmed General
Secretary of the union alongwith Maqsood Ahmed, Haji Muhammad Younus, Muzaffar
Mateen, Sh. Muhammad Shoaib and others representatives of the union. At this
occasion, Mr. Abdur Rehman General Manager and Mian Saghir Ahmed Director
General (HR&A) LESCO were also present. Earlier the union representatives
apprised the Chief Executive Officer, LESCO. prevailing unsafe and poor working
condition of line staff resulting their tragic deaths and shortage of Safety
equipment and paucity of staff on account ban on recruitments for years and
need to replenish Store Material including Transformers and Conductors etc. to
attend the complaints of the consumers promptly and demanded strong measure to
remedy the situation as well as
redressed the legitimate grievances of the worker. The Chief Executive
LESCO assured the union, that Company would take all Steps
for the welfare of the workers since those
were our major asset who work round the clock despite serious shortage
of the staff.
The Government and all Sections of Society should come
forward to rescue the victims of rampage of Floods to ease their suffering over
this calamity. Elecy. Management should take an emergent measures to check
menace of Fatal and non-Fatal accident causing tragic deaths of 26 Members of
Line Staff within two months due to electrocution at work place on account of
unsafe working condition and ensure safe working conditions to them. One of the
reasons that the existing line staff had to work extra hours on account of ban
of recruitment for many years while the new lines and new elecy. connections
were being installed every day. It was also urged to up-Grade the remaining
staff as per Settlement with the Union. These demands were raised in a large
meeting of WAPDA/Elecy. Workers held at Bakhtiar Labour Hall, Lahore on 9th September, 2014 under the aegis of “ALL
PAKISTAN WAPDA HYDRO ELECTRIC WORKERS UNION”
C.B.A. which was presided over by Veteran Trade Union Leader Mr. Khurshid
Ahmed General Secretary of the Union. The meeting was attended by many hundreds
Trade Union Representatives and Workers and was also addressed by Haji Muhammad
Younus, Sajid Kazmi, Rana Muhammad Akram, Rana Abdul Shakoor and others.
By another resolution the house urged all the
Political Parties to hold mutual dialogue for amicable solution the economic
and social problems such as sky rocket Price Hike and aggravating unemployment
and evil of Feudalism and Illiteracy
irrational widening gap between the rich and poor in the Society.
The house also
demanded to the Government should develop Hydel Generation for providing
cheaper source of elecy. and overcoming serious load shedding and get
recovered US 200 Billions from the Feudal Lords and capitalist and
politician deposited in the Swiss Bank
by them.
