Pakistan Unions argue for cheaper electricity, not privatization

The Government should take urgent national measures to develop cheaper source of elecy. and overcome the menace of Elecy. Load Shedding and high cost of elecy. charges in the country by developing Hydel Power Station alike Tarbela and Mangla developing National Elecy. Rs. 170 and Coal Fired Lakhra Elecy. Power Station generating Elecy. 6 per unit in comparison of high cost of Private Thermal Power Station while the private generator Power Station had been charging the elecy. Rs. 20 to Rs. 30 per unit making impossible for common man to pay the high cost of generation of Oil Elecy. Generation.
The Government should appoint professional Chief Executive Officer of distribution companies on permanent basis and hand over the complete control of DISCOs to either WAPDA or PEPCO instead of Private Members of Board of Director becoming owner of distribution companies without any investment.
