Thousands of workers all over the
country including, Quetta, Peshawar, Mardan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sukkur,
Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi, Hyderabad and Lahore observed
“PROTEST DAY” 07.01.2015 under
the aegis of ALL PAKISTAN WORKERS CONFEDERATION (Regd), including ALL PAKISTAN
WAPDA HYDRO ELECTRIC WORKERS UNION C.B.A , Railway Workers Union CBA, National
Bank of Pakistan Employees Union CBA,
Irrigation Workers Confederation, Bata Mazdoor
League and other Industrial Trade Union and LESCO Engineering
Association. At Lahore the workers and Elecy. Engineers and other Industrial
Workers held a mass Rally at Press Club Chowk carrying banners in support of
their demands condemning Feudalism, Capitalism and proposed Privatization Policy
of National Public Utilities including Elecy, Railway, P.I.A., Oil & Gas
and other Public entities on the behest of the World Bank against the public
interest and urging all political parties to adopt Plan of Action to tackle the
challenges of abject Poverty and
aggravating unemployment and growing ignorance and irrational gap between Rich
& Poor in the Society and demanded abolishing abuse of child and bonded
Labour and discrimination against women and Feudalism in the country and
Provisions of Safety of the employees of Elecy. for prevention of theft of
Elecy. against lawless element and abhorred the killing of Rai Zayyad Ahmed
S.D.O. Itthad Colony Sub Division LESCO
Lahore and brutal attack upon Assadullah Khan S.E 2nd Circle, LESCO Lahore by such elements and demanded the
arrest of those culprits urgently.
The
rally was addressed by veteran Trade Union Leader Mr. Khurshid Ahmed General
Secretary of All Pakistan Workers Confederation, Muhammad Ramzan Butt General
Secretary, and Amjad Hussain Nagra
Senior Vice President Engineering Association and Rubeena Jameel President,
Akbar Ali Khan Additional General Secretary , Rana Shakoor , Sajid Kazmi and
representatives of All Pakistan Workers Confederation and Ch. Muhammad Anwar
President Railway Workers Union and Niaz Khan, Khushi Muhammad Khokhar, Osama Tariq, Yousaf Baloch, Arshid Insari
Chairman Lahore Press Club and other representatives of the Trade Unions. In a
resolution passed in the Rally urged to the Prime Minister of Pakistan to
improve the productivity of national public utilities including Elecy. Railway,
P.I.A. and Oil & Gas instead of Privatization Since the privatization of
Elecy in Multan, Rawalpindi and Karachi had miserably failed. By another resolution, the Rally expressed
complete support and affirmation of the
struggle of Armed Forces against Terrorist
and condemned the killing of 132
innocent children at Peshawar School by Terrorist against the all norms of
Humanity.
By
another resolution, the Rally demanded to the Prime Minister to hold dialogue
with the Trade Union on the proposed
Privatization instead of being dictated by I.M.F. and the World Bank and get
recovered 200 Billion Dollars deposited by Feudal Lords and Capitalists and Politicians in the Swiss
Bank.
