(May 2016) The whole Italian waste sector will come to a standstill 30 May. Close to 100.000 workers will be on strike. Workers and their unions are protesting the refusal of the employers to conclude sector agreement to prevent the cut throat competition. The workers want to stop cuts in pay and jobs. Public procurement is to be used to deliver quality services and to improve health and safety. The unions involved are FP-CGIL, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Fiadel. EPSU has sent a message of solidarity.
