Trade Unions for Energy Democracy - calls for the public sector to lead the energy reforms of the future ..


Professor Sean Sweeney of Trade Unions for Energy Democracy recently participated in a workshop organised by PSI Affiliate ETU (Australia) ,in Brisbane  covering the impacts on workers associated with the transformation of the generation sector and networks as it moves from fossil fuels to renewables. 

Professor Sweeney also discussed the international perspectives on privatisation of electricity networks and how some countries are taking back networks from private to public hands.  (Advice from ETU) 

The key newspaper for this region published an article linking the points of no privatization and the future of the electricity industry .

Professor Sweeney, also called for the public sector to lead the energy reforms of the future, not continue with the failures of incentive's  of the private sector , to create enough renewable's to replace coal.
