Latest up date from Transparency International -

Transparency International logoFor the past few weeks we’ve been hard at work preparing for the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) taking place next week 22-24 October in Copenhagen, Denmark. The conference takes place in the Bella Center and is organised by us, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the IACC Council.

This year’s theme is Together for Development, Peace and Security: Now is the Time to Act. Our objective is to move the fight against corruption from words to action. In today’s increasingly polarised world where democracy is being weakened in too many countries, we need to work together to take concrete steps towards sustainable development, peace and security.

Next week also kicks off our 25th anniversary year, and we want to celebrate that with real change. So we’re excited to bring together leading experts, innovators and activists from civil society, government, business and academia in more than 50 workshops and six high-level plenaries.

During the conference we are excited to announce the winners of the Anti-Corruption Award, host the Fair Play Concert with headliner yasiin bey (formerly Mos Def), as well as the film festival Films 4 Transparency (F4T).

For those of you who can’t make it but want to keep up with all the action, we invite you to sign up to the IACC newsletter to get the latest updates and highlights from the conference and events.
You can also join or follow the conversation on Twitter and Facebook with the official hashtag #18IACC.
We look forward to welcoming participants in Copenhagen very soon!

Caribbean golden visas: rum deal for Europe

When you think of the Caribbean what is the first thing that comes to mind? Pristine island shores, magnificent coral reefs, secret white-sand beaches?
