The Arthur Svensson International Award - Announcement of international award - Norway and International

In 2010, Industri Energi established an international award for union rights - the Arthur Svensson International Award. In 2010, the award was granted to Wellington Chibebe, Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU). The award will be granted annually to a worthy winner, based on proposals from trade unions around the world. The award money is NOK 500,000 (approximately 65,000 €).
Who may receive the award - The award will be granted to a person or organization that has
particularly promoted union rights and/or strengthened trade union organization.
Who can propose candidates - Representatives and employees of Norwegian and international (non-Norwegian)
trade unions.
Nomination requirements - The nomination must contain a justification for the choice of candidate.
It must also be clear who is making the nomination and the nominator’s relationship with the proposed candidate.
The deadline for proposing candidates is 1 March 2011.
