NZ PSA - looking to the future and partnering with civil society -

http://www.thepublicsectorconference.org.nz/  The NZ PSA partnered up with 3 other organisations, to set this conference up for the first time. It is a one-off at the moment, but may become a biennial event. This depends in large part upon feedback from the conference participants.

"It was not a union or specifically left wing event. However, as we wanted to challenge the status quo, and suggest some new ways to develop the role of the public sector, where were certainly some challenges to neo-liberalism and to the idea of the “big society”, and a general endorsement for a stronger role of the state. "

The best place for more information is the website – which outlines speakers, themes, and topics.

There were not academic papers, as this was a general conference. However, we expect that some speaker notes and power points will be loaded on to the website in the next couple of weeks.
