On October 5, 2015, the governments of Australia, Brunei
Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru,
Singapore, the United States and Vietnam concluded negotiations for the
Trans Pacific Partnership trade agreement. The ITUC and many trade
unions oppose the TPP, as it fails to support good jobs, a clean
environment and quality public services. To the contrary, it privileges
corporate interests over workers’ interests. That is why trade unionists
are lobbying their legislators to oppose the TPP, and asking them to
sign the pledge. Below are those legislators who have already made the
pledge.
We also call on you to contact your legislator and tell them to oppose the TPP. We cannot win if you do not do your part. You can also add your name to our list of citizens of the TPP countries who oppose the TPP.
