Australia Poised For A Clean Energy Future

campaigniq.communityengine.com/ch/26848/2dfn5fp/1537093/26efe962g.html After two decades of debate about action on climate change, the Labor Government’s Clean Energy Future legislation passed through Parliament this week. For the first time, we will have a law that cuts the carbon pollution which causes climate change. http://www.alp.org.au/labortv/
The history changing vote turns years of discussion into reality and will deliver:

  •  A cut to carbon pollution of at least 160 million tonnes a year in 2020;
  •  Tax cuts and increases to household payments and pensions for millions of Australians;
  •  A clean energy economy with new economic opportunities and clean energy jobs.
Together, we’re protecting the environment for our children and our grandchildren. Importantly, we are doing it in the proudest of Labor traditions; by supporting jobs and helping families. In time, the scaremongering by Tony Abbott and the opposition will prove to be just that. Future generations will judge that we are on the right side of history and that by acting now, we were able to lay the foundations of a clean energy future.
