local government - libraries, information systems, archives, museums and art galleries - Australia

http://www.asu.asn.au/media/localgovt/20120330_training.html   ASU members working in local government (and other industries), libraries, information systems, archives, museums and art galleries now have a training package that recognises the work they do for the community and also improves their career paths, job security and workplace recognition.
Working to get national recognition and portability of skills recognition is just another way we help ASU members in local government and other employees each day.
"The qualifications will also improve the quality public services members deliver each day to the community from regional art galleries, to inner city libraries, museums, workplace information systems and the archives of our public records. The new package is important to citizens using these services but also to those working to provide them," said ASU Assistant National Secretary Greg McLean OAM (pictured second from right at the launch of the package),
Greg was also the Union Representative on the Package Review Panel , ASU Branch and Member contributions to the review came via ASU state branches, the web and regional/city consultations held by IBSA
The package review was part of IBSA work and included national consultations as well as with ASU state branches, news items via the ASU website and consultations by IBSA (see IBSA links below).
