Pakistan: Demands of 140.000 workers accepted

http://www.world-psi.org/en/pakistan-demands-140000-workers-accepted No privatisation of power may be carried out by the Government of Pakistan. This is one of the demands from the Pakistani union of electricity workers that has now been accepted.
The WAPDA union in Pakistan signed an important agreement with the Government this week.
Among several issues agreed upon, is that there will be no privatisation of power carried out by the Government of Pakistan.
The pay scales of the workers will be upgraded, for some of them with 100 per cent. There are also issues on safety and on allocation of shares of the electricity companies among the employees.
In March this year, WAPDA threatened to suspend supply of electricity .in protest to the government's plans of privatisation
