CFWD
Welcomed CBI Probe in DJB’s Scandalous PPP Project (Nagloi, Malvia Nagr; Mehroi;
Vasant Vihar PPP Project and Water Meter Project).
· CFWD welcomed CBI
probe into DJB’s PPP projects and water meter scams.
· CFWD
demanded DJB and Chairperson to clear her stand on these scams and claimed that
these scams in her notice prior to approval by her as Chairperson DJB.
· CFWD was continuously
writing letters; Submitting case studies to and CEO Debashree Mukherjee;
Chairperson Smt. Sheila Dixit jee about these scandals PPP projects and Huge
scams but no action been taken by them than CFWD wrote to CVC, CAG etc.
· DJB;
Chairperson, cannot be spared from their respective responsibilities as they
allowed to patronage these scams in DJB.
· CFWD informed
that during recent years around 11348 Cr Rupees were siphoned to the private
companies in many Water and Sewerage related project in DJB
· DJB
paid Rs. more than 511 Cr to Private Consultants during few years and these
Consultants enhanced and facilitate the Corrupt Multinational Companies, their
favour and midlemanship make the surface smooth to the Corporate.
· CFWD demanded CBI
probe into all projects and amount paid to consultants in last 5 years.
· CFWD
claimed that two more scams are on its way in DJB namely Chandrawal PPP project
and Wazirabad PPP project funded by JICA and Asian development Banks
amounting to Rs. 2018 Cr & 2012 Cr approximately .
Citizens Front for Water Democracy
welcomed the move by CBI to probe into DJB scams and registering PEs in four
projects as under;
· Nangloi Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Water Project
· Malviya Nagar Public-Private Partnership (PPP)
Project
· Vasant Vihar and Mehrauli Project
· Purchase; Installation and O&M of domestic Water
Meters
The
all projects not only suffered with procedural lapses but also financial
irregularities and also several favour to the Multinational Corporates. The
total loss which is likely to be in DJB and public is more than 4000 cr in
above mentioned scams.
The
CBI probe into DJB scams proved that the allegations of CFWD were right and it
also proved that the privatization of water model is full of corruption and to
benefit the private companies. Now responsibility has come upon the DJB Chief
and Chairperson of Delhi Jal Board.
CFWD
demand that the FIR must also be registered against the concern immediately
without giving any time to corrupt.
These
are not the only projects suffered with the corruption but all projects of DJB
need probe. CFWD claimed that during Six to Seven years around 11348 crores
were siphoned to private companies in the name of Improvement; Rehabilitation,
Construction of WTP/STP/UGR/BPS/SPS and laying of Water & Sewerage pipe
network. These private projects fetch no benefit to the citizens of Delhi.
During
last few years; DJB paid Rs. more than 511 Cr to Private Consultants during few
years and these Consultants enhanced the project cost and facilitate the
Corrupt Multinational Companies, their favour and midlemanship make the surface
smooth to the Corporate.
CFWD
demanded the probe in all cases of as in the list.
CFWD
also reveals that two more scams in DJB are taking shape and these are;
· Chandrawal PPP Water Project
· Wazirabad PPP Water Project
It is
claimed that script of the scam has been written for the scam. CFWD demanded
immediate inquiry into these two PPP projects also.
