PSI - " Superannuation - Pensions " & " Capital Stewards: UNISON Latest Additions"

http://gmpsiaprec.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/psi-superannuation-pensions-capital.html PSI has for some time recognised the need to look at the role of worker pension or superannuation funds, the use of workers capital and how public sector pension funds can be used for the benefit of public sector workers , their communities and public services. In the past PSI affiliates have shared information on campaigns and many have engaged with issues around workers capital

PSI has also held workshops on this issue, appointed the Pension responsibility to a PSI Official and has been building engagement with affiliates. The issue of workers capital was also an issue discussed at the recent PSI Global Electricity Utilities meeting , held in late 2013 .

PSI affiliate UNISON (UK) has been steadily developing its work around workers capital , via its Capital Stewards network and is now moving to share some of this work with PSI affiliates, including providing regular updates, via its weekly bulletin " Capital Stewards: UNISON Latest Additions" which will now be re-posted on the PSI APREC Utilities and Local Government Blog each week , under the existing " Superannuation - Pensions "  blog topic link so that historical and recent items can be viewed and recirculated, a number of news items around " Capital Stewards: UNISON Latest Additions" have already been placed on this blog .

If your Union as a PSI Affiliate would like to add an item to this blog Superannuation - Pensions " or
" Capital Stewards " please contact me and pass your item on.

This is an important and additional step, as its about encouraging the work of PSI Affiliates involved in Pension and Superannuation funds to build the use of Workers Capital and highlight to workers pension/superannuation members if their funds are used to privatise their own jobs or the privatization of other public services workers jobs, and services to the community.

As well as build education for pension/superannuation trustees as well as have Union Members understand were their funds are being used, the way global capital moves and to build their interests in how and where their money is used, plus respect for the I.L.O. (International Labour Organisation Secretariat of the United Nations) Charters and other conventions and other global charters and conventions etc .

So please look out for the weekly updates from UNISON and additional advice from PSI .

If your Union has any questions or contributions feel free to pass these onto me so I can assist and direct your inquiry.

More advice will follow on this topic, but contributions and advice, or web links are important contributions and can be emailed to me at  greg.mclean.asu@gmail.com
