In observance of ‘ROUTE OF
SHAME’ the PSI Bangladesh affiliates organized a human chain to day the 7th
June 2014 in Topkhana
Road before the
Press club in Dhaka. A good number of members, male & female including the
CEC leaders of the affiliates joined. The activity started at 10 in the morning
& continued up to 11.15 in the morning. There were two big colorful banners
& some colorful festoons displaying the workers related issues/ demands.
Yesterday a press release was issued to draw the attention of the print &
electronic Medias. So during the activity a good number of media people came to
be informed about the term ‘Route of Shame’. We had a small leaflet in local
language briefing the theme & justification of the activity ‘Route of
Shame’. On the other side of the leaflet the press release issued from PSI, HQ
( on 21st May 2014) was printed. During the activity the leaders of
the affiliated expressed their full support & solidarity with the issues
raised during the ‘Route of Shame’ cycle rally organized by PSI & other
Global unions in Geneva. They also draw the attention of the local authorities on
continuous violation of workers rights.
During the activity the
enforcement people came & enquired about PSI & about the affiliates in Bangladesh. They were very much cooperative during the activity.
After concluding the
activity again a press release has been issued.
