Dear PSI Oceania Affiliates, I have the pleasure to inform you that we have appointed Michael Whaites from Australia as the new PSI Sub-regional Secretary for Oceania. Michael is already working for the PSI affiliate New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA). He will reduce this work commitment to 50%, to be able to take on his new PSI position also at a 50% part-time rate.
He will continue to be based at the office of his primary employer and start PSI work formally on 1st April 2015. However, he has already launched some PSI activities and events. We are very grateful to Brett Holmes, General Secretary of the New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association for facilitating these working arrangements. We are confident that Michael’s appointment will help to further support Oceanian affiliates and contribute to strengthen PSI’s profile and impact in the region, building on the good work carried out by Mike Ingpen.
