Permanency to contract Teachers, Government workers on contract since 1987.
Full time wages to the part time, contract health workers including Nurses and Teachers.
Wages for State government employees/ Teachers on par with the Central government employees / Teachers.
Social Security and Trade union rights for the government employees
I addressed the gathering, provided solidarity support of PSI, on behalf of General Secretary and Asia Pacific Regional Secretary, to the Government employees and Teachers. Later explained that Pension is neither a bounty nor a grace bestowed by the employers, but a payment for the past service, referred to the Supreme Court judgement and Central fifth pay commission recommendation; the difference between New Contributory benefit scheme and the earlier ‘defined benefit’ pension scheme prevalent in South Asian countries.
