http://www.aawl.org.au/content/kspi-plans-million-worker-strike-across-indonesia The Indonesia Confederation Union of Workers (KSPI) aims to lead
a million workers in simultaneous strikes
in 14 cities this September. The strike will have three demands.
Firstly, the government must repeal laws that permit outsourcing.
Secondly, the government must increase the minimum wage to bring it
closer to a living wage. And finally, companies must pay workers’ health
insurance premiums, equal to 5 percent of workers’ salaries. The strike is being planned for the following 14 industrial cities:
Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Jakarta, Karawang, Purwakarta, Cimahi,
Bandung, Batam, Medan, Semarang, Surabaya, Mojokerto and Pasuruan.
