UPDATE - Media Registration Open for 2015 APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting

" Media item issued by the APEC Secretariat -  Media registration is open for the 2015 APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting (MRT) to be hosted by the Philippines in Boracay on 23-24 May and chaired by Philippine Secretary of Trade and Industry.
Trade that has powered the rise of the Pacific Rim as an engine for the global economy remains sluggish. Trade Ministers from the 21 APEC member economies will take actions to unlock new and under-tapped sources of trade and investment growth while ensuring that the benefits are widely felt by people and businesses at home and throughout the region.
Priorities will include boosting emerging regional and global trade agreements and the flow of goods, services, people and capital across borders; opening new economic opportunities for small firms, women and young entrepreneurs; cross-border education and training; infrastructure development; and the promotion of environmental goods and services, and green growth.
A presentation from World Trade Organization Director-General Roberto Azevêdo and policy recommendations offered by business leaders from the APEC Business Advisory Council and APEC’s official observers – the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council and Pacific Island Forum – will help to set the tone for the proceedings.
Registration for all media representatives wishing to cover MRT may be done online at: http://reg.apec2015.ph/media. "
