Featured sessions
Agence Française de
Développement (AFD) uses its wide experience in working with cities in the
global North and South to explore the prerequisites (financial, technical and
practical) to integrate climate change into long term planning. How to mobilize planning tools to develop resilient cities (B4) On the first day of the congress, this session will draw from the experiences of three diverse cities (Da Nang, Vietnam, Rouen, France, and Porto-Novo, Benin) in integrating climate change adaptation into urban planning and policies. The session will highlight the utilization of analytical and financial instruments to develop climate change strategies at the city level. What can local financing bring to funding mechanisms for adaptation? (D5) On the second day, AFD will demonstrate the relevance and role of local and national financial institutions’ dedicated funds, as direct or indirect providers to finance municipalities’ climate-resilient investments. The session will be based on the experiences of different local financial institutions from Latin America. |
