Institute speaks up for Australian Workers

Introducing our latest report

We have publicly released our evidence-based report Who loses when penalty rates are cut? The economic impact of penalty rates cuts in Australia's retail and hospitality industrieswhich was authored by Equity Economics Director, Amanda Robbins.

The report shows that any cut in penalty rates would reduce disposable income in regional areas by up to $748.3 million a year. This would be a devastating blow to families and communities in regional Australia.

You can see the full report here, and the Sydney Morning Herald's article here.

P.s we'd love you to join the debate on our Facebook page
