PSI has been a supporter of this campaign by lending support to this importation issue, highlighting the accidents and hearing first hand from PSI WAPDA at the recent PSI Asia Pacific Utilities and Local Government Meeting. Resulting in urgency actions by the PSI.
In recent times the WAPDA Campaign , led by the Union's, General Secretary Kurshid Ahmed, President Abdul Nazamani and Assistant General Secretary Osama Tariq, has succeeded in having the employer to raise the profile of safety and take responsibility by introducing safety days each month, building safety awareness and the Union establishing safety committees at each Workplace Depot, plus Safety Committees at Divisional/Division/Circle and Company Level .
PSI also has other Electricity Industry affiliates ready to support and help WAPDA develop its safety actions, technical advice, safety culture, hazards assessment actions and campaign .
