At the Australian New South Wales (NSW) State Local Government Industry Conference ,where over 410 Elected Councillors from across a State , the size of the UK , came together a key policy announcement was made by the Opposition in the State Parliament that the State Labor Party , will ensure No forced amalgamations of Local Government entities by the State Parliament.
There was also an announcement that the National Labor Party would push for recognition of Local Government in the Australian National Constitution , to ensure communities had strong voice in keeping their Local Governments, local services and ensuring funding .
